Kyle Addington

I grew up in Rawlins, Wyoming, a small windy town. When I finished high school I attended college at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo where I studied history and received my teaching degree. My first teaching job was at Renaissance High school in Detroit, MI teaching social studies. My three years at Renaissance High School were fantastic, but the brutal, sunless winters convinced me and my then girlfriend (now wife) to move to Colorado. I taught at Horizon High School in the Adams 12 school district for three years before becoming the full time Building Technology Coordinator where I was in charge of everything from inventory, tech budget, fixing computers and helping teachers integrate technology in to their teaching. I also received my masters degree in Information and Learning Technologies from the University of Colorado at Denver during that time.

Most recently I was an Instructional Technology Coordinator in Adams 12 working with teachers, students and administrators to support teaching and learning. During my time there I trained extensively on Google Apps for Education, and passed the Google Apps ‘Qualified Individual’ test, so I am excited to bring that experience to St. Vrain.

Other notes:
We came to Denver in the summer of 2005 and love it!
In the summer of 2009 we welcomed a little (now large) Labrador to our family named Porter.
In May of 2010 we had our first child Mya and in July of 2012 we had Trevor.
I am a devout fan of the Detroit Tigers.
When I am at home I like spending time trying to make my yard look nice.
Once in a while I tweet things.
