In the St. Vrain Valley School District, we discuss Internet safety and responsible use with all students, but we know how valuable your role as a parent is in keeping your child safe online. We have provided links to resources on Internet Safety for parents below and we encourage you to check out the information we provide to our teachers on the teacher resource page.
Our district recommends parents look at the resources provided by Common Sense Media for teaching internet safety concepts to students. The site includes tips from basic online safety, reviews of movies, music, television, and video games to setting parental controls on the iPhone & iPad. We have highlighted some of their resources below, but the site provides many more resources.
Resource Recommendations for Parents
A great place to start is by viewing ‘Rules of the Road for Parents in the Digital Age‘ page on Common Sense Media.
Common Sense Media also provides a very good collection of topics around Parent Concerns.

Finally, we encourage you to talk to your child about his or her use of technology resources for learning. Our goal is to provide a rich educational environment for our students which includes the appropriate use of digital resources.
