Nannette is an award-winning educator both at the local and national levels, recognized for her implementation of technology in the classroom. Ever since she began her teaching career over a decade ago, she has implemented 21st century learning pedagogy in her curriculum and class environment as well as provided mentoring and training experiences for other educators as part of district leadership teams and roles.
She received her Bachelor’s degree in English from a small private school in Texas and went on to earn her Masters in Education with specializations in Curriculum, Instruction and Teacher Leadership from Lamar University in Houston, TX. She has served as a classroom teacher and understands the benefits of technology first-hand through her own student’s experiences and believes that this background empowers her to help other teachers make the same leap into technology.
In her current role, Nannette is an Instructional Technology Coordinator (ITC) for St Vrain Valley School District and is excited to help other students, teachers and administrators experience the power of educational technology and it’s impact on student learning.
Throughout her career, she has presented at both local and national conferences including ISTE, Rocky Mountain Google Apps Summit, Technology in Education (a Colorado State conference), as well as hosting district conference days on iPads, Web 2.0 tools, Google Apps and best instructional practices with technology. Nannette is a passionate learner and reader—she’s always looking for new technology to discover and try. But ultimately, her greatest joy comes from watching teachers and students experience the power of learning, collaborating and creating through meaningful experiences using technology!
