“(Students) use technology and digital media strategically and capably. Students employ technology thoughtfully to enhance their reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language use. They tailor their searches online to acquire useful information efficiently, and they integrate what they learn using technology with what they learn offline. They are familiar with the strengths and limitations of various technological tools and mediums and can select and use those best suited to their communication goals.” Common Core definition of technology for College and Career Readiness
A first step in promoting the use of technology in support of the standards is to build awareness and common expectations as they relate to our district unit plans. The resources below outline the connection between technology and the district implementation of the Colorado Academic Standards. They also provide a glimpse into what proficiency at each grade level should include.
- District unit plans – Provide the scope and sequence for each grade level or content area based on the Colorado Academic Standards.
- The Technology Curriculum Vertical Alignment is a large matrix that shows the progression of technology skills across grade levels as indicated in the District evidence outcomes.
