David Keyek (A-F)
Experience: 13 years teaching Elementary and Middle level Special Education: three years in the San Francisco Bay Area and ten years at Centennial Middle in Boulder. One year in Counseling at Horizon High in Thornton. Eight years counseling at Niwot High School.
Education: Syracuse University (BS), San Francisco State University (Elementary Credential), St. Mary’s College of California (Special Education Credential – Moderate Needs), University of Colorado – Denver (MA, Counseling and Psychology).
Personal: Born and raised in New Jersey, just outside Philadelphia. Married with one son, 2nd year at Syracuse University, one daughter, 11th grader at Boulder High, and wife, Kindergarten Teacher at Foothill Elementary in Boulder. Interests include: road cycling, skiing, trail running, sailing, music and generally goofing around.
Kelly Christensen (G-L)
Experience: This is my fifth years as a high school counselor
Education: B.A. Psychology, Western State College; B.A. Sociology, Western State College; M.A. School Counseling, University of Northern Colorado.
Personal: Born and raised on the Western Slope of Colorado near Steamboat Springs. I spent 8 years in construction management before making the career change to School Counseling. I am the Head Cross Country Coach at Niwot and will be on the coaching staff for the Track team as well. I enjoy the outdoors, which I guess might be why I haven’t found a good reason to leave this wonderful state!
Sarah Lucas (M-Ri)
Experience: This is my fourth year as a counselor at Niwot High School.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, College of Charleston; Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art, College of Charleston; Master’s Degree in School Counseling, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Personal: I was born in Chapel Hill, NC, and grew up living in several places throughout the Southeast. I moved to Colorado with my husband after graduate school, and I truly love it here. I’m an avid hiker, yogi, and artist (drawing, illustration, and painting). I love spending time with family, friends, and my talkative Siamese cat, George.
Aimee Brown (Ro-Z)
Experience: I spent six years teaching Social Studies at the high school level in JeffCo. I’ve been working as a School Counselor for eleven years; nine of those at Niwot High. In addition to my role as a counselor, I am also the faculty sponsor of Link Crew and Mock Trial. I serve as the Counseling Department chair and also serve as a member of the NHS Education Foundation Grants Committee.
Education: I hold a B.A. in History from Colorado State University – GO RAMS! I earned an M.A. in Counseling Psychology Counselor Education in 2003 from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Personal: I’m a Colorado native and currently live in Longmont. I’m married with three children; a son who attends CSU and two daughters who attend Niwot High. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, watching my kids play soccer & volleyball, traveling, graphic design, reading, walking, glass art, watching design shows on HGTV and playing with my dog, Lucie.
Tenica Henry, Interventionist
Experience: 20 years as a mental health worker in various organizations and 12 years as a school social worker. This is my 7th year at Niwot High School.
Education: University of Colorado at Boulder (B.A. in Psychology); Colorado State University (M.A. in Social Work); Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Colorado
Personal: I was born in Boulder, and currently live in Erie. I am married with an 8 year old son and 5 year old daughter. I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, camping, and traveling.

College Reps! Please contact Sarah to schedule a college visit. I grew up in Hamilton, New Jersey and moved to Breckenridge in 2007. We moved to Longmont last year and I was the Principal’s Assistant at Northridge Elementary. I am married to Dylan Hollingsworth mother to Jeremy Hollingsworth and have the best dog ever in Rio. I’m so excited to be here at Niwot High School as the registrar and counseling assistant. GO COUGARS!
