Each year the Longs Peak Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution offers an American History Essay Contest to all 5th through 8th grade students.
The topic this year is “A Colonial Family’s Reaction to the Stamp Act.” Winners will be honored at a Patriotic Tea in February. Essay winners for each grade level are chosen for First, Second and Third place. The essays winners will also be entered in the state competition with the chance of moving on to nationals. National winners are announced at the Continental Congress in Washington D.C. in June 2016 and receive a monetary award.
The deadline for these Essays is Friday, December 4, 2015. Entries may be sent to SVVSD Communications Office prior to this date. All information and instructions linked below.
