Leslie Chopp – Leslie grew up in St. Louis, MO. She got married and moved to Texas, then she moved to Oklahoma and then she moved to Colorado in 1996. She loves it here. She is married and the mother of two adult sons. Leslie has an Associate of Science as well as an Associate of Applied Science, Legal Secretary from Tulsa Junior College. Over the years, Leslie has held many various secretarial positions. She was hired by the school district in 2002 and has been at Silver Creek High School since 2012. She is so thankful to be here. Leslie enjoys running, biking, hiking and being outdoors with family and friends. She also enjoys coffee, ice cream, and dark chocolate 🙂
Barb Norrbom -Barb has been a counselor in SVVSD for over 16 years, 7 of which have been at SCHS. She is happy to return to the Silver Creek community after a 3-year absence. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Barb struck out for adventure, earning her BA in Psychology from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. After working and traveling for a time, Barb came to Colorado in 1997 to obtain her M.Ed in Counseling and Career Development at Colorado State University (Go Rams!). Her passion as a school counselor is to empower and connect students to their future possibilities. She feels incredibly fortunate to work with the amazing students, parents and staff at Silver Creek. She is married to her best friend and husband, John and they share space with their dog and two cats. She enjoys traveling, hiking, mountain vistas, yoga, time with friends & family, and just walking the dog.
Michael Sardinia – Michael is a native New Yorker who loves the mountains and therefore pursued his education in western North Carolina and later in Colorado, which has been his home for the past 32 years. After 12 years working as a family therapist with at-risk youth in a day treatment setting, Michael was the clinical supervisor for the Boulder Valley School District Prevention/Intervention Program for three years prior to accepting a school counselor position at Silver Creek. This is Michael’s 13th year as a Raptor, and he absolutely loves his job and all the students, parents, and colleagues that he has been fortunate enough to work with during that time. Michael lives in Longmont and is married and has two children. He has a passion for music and sports, especially skiing, hockey and cycling and is an avid hiker. Michael plans to eventually retire from Silver Creek because he has no desire to work anywhere else!
Kristin Ehle-Parker – Kristi is a proud Colorado native and is thrilled to be part of the Silver Creek team! Working with adolescents and helping them in their social, emotional, and academic lives has always been central to Kristi’s goals. She started her career in education nine years ago as a high school teacher and coach, from there Kristi returned to school and earned her Masters in Counseling in order to shift into a different role in advocating for students. Kristi lives in Longmont with her husband and spoiled dog, Wally. Her outside interests include running, hiking, and generally anything that involves being active in the great Rocky Mountains.
Andy Yeomans -Mr. Yeomans has been a Guidance Counselor in the St. Vrain Valley School District for over 15 years. The last 10 years he has spent at Silver Creek. After graduating with a degree in Business Finance he pursued an initial career as a Commercial Loan Officer in the Banking industry. After several years he re-enrolled in college and received a “Master of Social Work” degree. He enjoys hiking, biking, skiing and other outdoor activities that our great state offers. He also enjoys working with the amazing, spirited youth that he encounters at Silver Creek!
Whitney Mires – Born and raised in Indiana, Whitney knew she wanted to be a school counselor from the time she was in middle school. She graduated with a BS in Spanish Education from Taylor University (Upland, IN) in 2001 and began her career in education as a teacher of migrant students in Alexandria, IN. Upon moving to Colorado in 2004, she taught Spanish at Mountain Vista High School in Highlands Ranch for nearly a decade. During this time she completed her Master’s in School Counseling at the University of Phoenix. Whitney and her family moved to Longmont in 2014 when she was offered her dream job as the Interventionist at Silver Creek High School. In her free time, Whitney enjoys spending time with her husband and two elementary-aged boys in the great outdoors of Colorado skiing, playing golf, hiking, and camping (when not watching the boys’ athletic games).
