Accountability Meeting Packet
Please join us next month (11/29/12 at 2:30 PM) as we begin to chart course after the Mill Levy decision. This meeting also yielded some important feedback about our Parent Information and Registration Nights for incoming 9th graders. We will look to incorporate more students into the programs. Additionally, administrative team members are inviting tours for Thursdays now through January for prospective families; making an effort to answer individual questions in this very important transition.
Help us to refresh our mission statement!
Parents, please help us to refresh our mission statement. Our current mission statement was created several years back, when Silver Creek did not have many of the great scholastic opportunities we have today. This mission statement review is the culminating work of student, parent and staff committees. Please click on the following LINK and help us to refine the mission statement for Silver Creek High School.

FALL IS COLLEGE FAIR SEASON!
The following college events are coming up within our school district and in the surrounding area. While many wait until their junior or senior year to start their college searches, we strongly encourage ALL families to take advantage of these opportunities to start researching college options. Advance preparation can lead to more options, better decision-making, more programming and scholarship opportunities. We hope you find time to attend the event(s) that suit your needs!
For college fairs, please be aware that most have instituted a new registration program. This online process can help families save time from filling out cards for every school they want information from. To learn more about the program and how to register, click here.
What is a College Fair? How to make the most of a college fair, including sample questions to ask college representatives.

Concurrent Enrollment for Spring Semester 2013
Juniors and Seniors who are interested in taking classes that are not offered at Silver Creek may be eligible to participate in the Concurrent Enrollment program and receive both high school and college credit AND be reimbursed for the cost of tuition. Students can attend either Front Range or CU – Boulder but must complete the necessary paperwork and return it to their respective counselor by November 1st, at the absolute latest. Students may take up to two classes per semester. Classes must be approved by the counselor, the principal and then a district representative before a student can participate in the program. Please note that evening classes and online classes are not available through Concurrent Enrollment. Tuition is paid upfront by the family and then upon successful completion of the class(es), which is a grade of C or better, there will be a refund of the tuition. Please contact one of the counselors for more information but don’t delay since the deadline is next Thursday!
