Important New Online Parent teacher Conference Scheduler for

Silver Creek High School

Step-By-Step Parent/Guardian Instructions

  1. Visit the school’s homepage ( http://schs.stvrain.k12.co.us/ ) and select the Online Scheduler icon/link located below the Raptor icon.
  2. From the Online Scheduler homepage…
    1. Choose your student’s school from the drop down list and click “GO”
    2. Enter the school password (raptors)
    3. Enter your student’s “Student ID”.  If you do not know the Student ID, use the LOOKUP STUDENT ID button to access the system.
    4. Verify the student’s birth date
    5. A list of your student’s teachers will be displayed.  Check the box next to the name of each teacher you would like to meet with.
    6. If you have more than one student in the school you can see all of your students’ teachers’ schedules at one time by answering YES to this question “Do you want to schedule conferences for another student?” then repeat the steps above for your other students.  If you only have one student, answer NO to that question.
    7. You will then see the available time slots for each teacher you selected.
    8. Select the times that work best for your schedule.
    9. We encourage you to sign up for time slots that are not back-to-back to insure transfer time between conferences.
    10. We will be ringing bells to limit conference time to 10 minutes.  We appreciate your adherence to this time allotment and if more time is needed, please let the teacher know for a later follow-up.
    11. Enter your email address (recommended) if you would like an email reminder sent to you. (Your email address is kept private.)
    12. Once you have finished you can confirm your appointment details and print your conference schedule.
    13. Write down the Confirmation Number (you will need this number to cancel your appointment).

Need help?  Contact the school’s Online Scheduler™ specialists —  Leslie Chopp in counseling or Lois Davis in the front office — at (720) 494-3721.

Host a CCI Exchange Student!

For 26 years, CCI has successfully placed over 20,000 high school students with volunteer host families around the U.S.  CCI Local Coordinators successfully match students with the lifestyle of their American volunteer hosts and have many happy families and students year after year! We are the only “green” exchange organization that connects people and planet by practicing sustainability and encouraging service.  A fantastic way to provide a fun and cultural experience for your family! Call or email your local coordinator, if you would like the opportunity to enrich a student’s life, Lori Hewitt 720-204-1223, ccilorih@gmail.com.

Tech Fair

Now is the time to start planning for your projects for the 2013 Tech Fair! This year the Tech Fair will be held on April 20, 2013, with set-up on April 19th.  Once again, Skyline High School will be our gracious host for the event.

The registration form for registering a student project can be found here. Student project teams should be limited to 4 students per team. Each school is allowed three teams; if space permits, we will allow more than three. Ideally, we will have at least one team from each school.  Registration forms should be submitted via the Tech Fair website no later than March 15, 2013.

Please note that we will provide each team with one 6 ft. table, two chairs, and an electrical outlet.  Any needs beyond that should be planned for and provided by the project team. Projects should not involve any kind of flame, explosive device or chemicals that could cause an explosion.

The goal of the Tech Fair is to provide students the opportunity to showcase high quality research projects that offer technology-based solutions to real world problems and issues. Designs from the various Hack-a-thons and the VEX Robotics Competition that have already taken place in the District make excellent projects to showcase, but projects can range from raising awareness of an endangered species to designing special applications for smartphones. The sky is the limit! We have a number of resources available on the Tech Fair website to help with ideas and implementation.

SOLES4SOULS SHOE DRIVE

Imagine going through your day without any shoes … for so many this means they cannot go to school or college, go on interviews or to a job, play a sport, go into a store, take part in a performance, or get dressed up for special occasions.  It is mind boggling to think half the people in the world do not own an adequate pair of shoes.  People need so many different types of shoes and way too fast they are outdated, outgrown, or worn out.  Please know your donations are greatly appreciated.  So many of you at Silver Creek have inspired us by bringing in bags of shoes or organizing a shoe drive among your friends, neighbors, or place of work.  We are also extremely excited to announce that we are partnering with the Longmont Habitat for Humanity in our efforts.  How cool is that!  We would also like to thank the Fabulous Finds consignment store and Blue Mountain Elementary School for being our donors of the week bringing in over 300 pairs of shoes!  Together we are making a difference.
