Weekly Update for Friday, April 26th
AP Testing Pre-Admin Sessions
For those signed up to take AP exams in May, the AP pre-administration sessions will take place
next Tuesday morning, April 30th, in the commons. Students will be expected at either 7:30 or 9 o’clock a.m. to fill out their initial AP paperwork. Remember to bring #2 pencils to your session! Information about the pre-admin sessions, and any other testing updates or reminders, will be sent via email, so please check your email regularly until you have completed your test sessions.To view or change which pre-admin session you signed up for, log into your account on TotalRegistration.net. AP testing will begin on Monday, May 6. The full test schedule can be accessed with this link.
As an additional reminder, only half of our AP testers have turned in a transportation permission slip to the counseling office. This permission is important for the school to have in place as students travel between Silver Creek and the test site. Unless you are certain you already did this step, please click here to print, sign and return the permission slip to the counseling office. Thank you!

Then come enjoy The Silver Creek Theatre Company’s Production of “GUYS and DOLLS”!!! Broadway’s most successful Musical Comedy will be performed April 25th – 28th. Thursday through Saturday at 7 PM and a 2PM Sunday Matinee! Tickets are $8 for Students and $12 for Adults. Tickets will be on sale at the door. Put it in your calendar!

You can visit the Josten’s website -found on our homepage under yearbook- to purchase online, or you can bring 70 dollars to Ms. Boardman’s room -D106! BUY it, before it’s too late!!
Seniors Slide Show
Attention Seniors and parents- It is time to submit photos for the Senior Slide show. Photos can be submitted to the Facebook group online. You may also contact Michael Simboski or Dana Dow for questions on how to submit photos.
Crayons to Commencement
It’s almost graduation time again! Show your graduate how much you care with a special caption to run along with his or her senior photo or baby picture in the June issue of the Left Hand Courier. Click here for more information.
There is a Late Start Wednesday May 1st. School starts at 9:45 A.M. and busses run 2 1/2 hours later than normal time.
Thursday, May 2 @ 8:00 a college representative will be here from the University of Wyoming. Friday, May 3 @ 1:00 a representative will be here from the University of Northern Colorado. Please sign up in the counseling office.
Prom Tickets will be sold during both lunches. Ticket prices are $40 per person or $75 per couple. To get into the dance you will need your prom mask ,which will be given to you at time of ticket purchase, a valid ID and a completed school dance contract. Prom will be at the Spice of Life Event Center at the Flatirons Golf Course in Boulder Saturday, May 4th. Contact Cindi Lindsey for more information.

After Prom Committee
For those students interested in playing sports next year & need a new physical, Front Range Orthopedic Center is hosting free Medical Screenings on May 22nd and 23rd from 7:00 – 8:30 pm. See the athletic office if you have questions.
Boys Soccer players and parents. There will be a preseason informational meeting on May 14 at 7:00 pm in the Silver Creek Auditorium. Contact Coach Smith (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are unable to make the meeting.

SCHS Education Foundation
From the SCHS Education Foundation
Parents – Thank you so much for your support of the SCHS Education Foundation. Through your generosity and the support of other friends in the community, we have just passed $38,000 in donations to the school since we began in 2009. We have issued over 70 mini-grants to SCHS staff for items such as novel sets, brain models, document cameras, laptops, Nooks, audio books, subscriptions and conference fees. Recently, we contributed to a new laptop cart for the school.
Parents – please stop in the IMC on Wednesday morning, May 8, anytime between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. for an SCHS Education Foundation information open house. Learn more about the Foundation and how you can get involved and support our school. Incoming freshmen parents – this is a great way to get involved at Silver Creek. If you are unable to join us on May 8 but are interested in learning more, please contact Board president, Pat Carson at email@example.com.

District Art Show

It is that time of year again! The St. Vrain Valley School District wide art show will be held in the former Steve and Barry’s store in the Mall, across from the movie theater. Hundreds of local up-and-coming artists will be featured including over 100 of our very own Silver Creek Students.
When: April 20th through May 5th.

“My Hometown”: Teenagers Document America
The New York Times blog “Lens” is collecting photographs taken by young people that tell the story of America right now. The photographs will be displayed online, and then the best photographs will be selected for archiving in the permanent collection of the U.S. Library of Congress, alongside some of the greatest photographs ever produced in this country. All of our photography classes will be taking part, submitting work from film as well as digital photos. For more information see the New York Times “Lens” Blog.
Join us for Art Club every Thursday afternoon, from 2:15 to 3:30. Art club is open to everyone. Future projects may include a mural in the hallway, contests, felted slippers and jewelry. Please see Mrs. Giese for further information

We want you as an RABC member! Join during this Winter Membership Drive! Your membership will help us to update athletic equipment, subsidize student clubs and continue providing excellent activities and athletic opportunities for our kids.
Your membership means a great deal to our school as we face declining revenue and budgets for our schools. Membership cost is only $20 per family per year.

BINGO on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m.Gather some friends and neighbors and play Bingo at the Longmont Bingo Alley at 640 19th Ave. It’s LOTS OF FUN and the proceeds support all activities at Silver Creek High. “Silver Creek” Bingo night is EVERY Wednesday at 7 p.m. Hope to see you there!
Bingo is a huge fundraiser for our school and our athletic department. We operate Bingo every Wednesday night and need workers from 5:30 until about 9:00 at the Longmont Bingo hall, 640 19th Avenue, Longmont, CO 80501.
SCOPA (Silver Creek Organization for the Performing Arts) supports the staff and students of Silver Creek through fundraising and volunteer opportunities.
SCOPA Bingo times are: Saturdays from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. and Sundays from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Bingo Alley near Main and 19th Street.
