Senior Capstone Projects
Longmont Meals on Wheels is a local non profit organization that delivers meals and gifts to elderly and handicapped people daily. This winter they’re looking for Christmas gift donations for their clients. These elderly people generally only get one or two other presents for the holidays. If you would like to donate bring in socks, mittens, kitchen towels, lotions, hand soaps, and individual Kleenex packets. Drop these items off in the Meals On Wheels box located in front of the Attendance Office.
The Souls4Soles shoe drive is back. Bring in your new or used shoes to donate to this amazing non-profit organization. Don’t forget to tie or rubber-band your shoes together. One pair can save a life. Drop-off boxes are throughout the school so donate now.
Longmont Rotary Coat Drive
October 21st through November 30th Silver Creek High School will be collecting new or gently used coats, blankets, hats, scarves, gloves, mittens and boots for the Longmont Rotary. All items will be cleaned, sorted and delivered to the OUR Center for distribution. For more information contact longmontrotary.org.

Schedule Changes for second semester- last day is December 19th!!!
Silver Creek parents. Please take time with your students to go over their second semester class schedules as soon as possible. Freshman and sophomores should have all eight blocks filled (unless a special arrangement has been made with their counselor) and all juniors and seniors need to have at least six classes. If a student wants to make any additions, drops or changes, for any reason, now is the time since there will be no schedule changes made after December 19th! The options for electives are extremely limited and there’s a strong likelihood that changes won’t be possible, but the sooner the student can meet with his/her respective counselor, the better the chances are.Thank you for your support in enabling the students (and their teachers!) to hit the ground running when they return for the start of second semester by being in the right courses.
A college representative from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will be here on Tuesday, December 3rd at noon. Please sign up in the counseling office.
Tutoring Club of Longmont offers free ACT/SAT tests once a month to benefit high schools in the Saint Vrain Valley School District. These tests are an excellent opportunity for students to experience a full-length ACT or SAT test in a relaxed environment without the fear of this score going on a college transcript. Each student’s score and full analysis of the strengths and weaknesses indicated by the test will be available 3 days following the practice test. There is no pressure to sign up for our program, and students are only presented with how the program could help them.
Tutoring Club of Longmont is conveniently located on the diagonal of Ken Pratt and Nelson. All tests are scheduled on Saturdays and start promptly at 9:00 a.m. If a student would like to take one of these tests, he/she can email Longmontco@tutoringclub.com.
For more information please call (303) 651-0800.
