Information About School Lunch

St. Vrain Valley School’s Nutrition Service staff believes that nutritious school meals are a main ingredient in students’ ability to learn in the classroom. It’s hard for students to focus when they are hungry. Our staff takes pride in providing meals that meet the USDA nutrition requirements, include as many local ingredients as possible, but taste great too! These employees support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices. Approximately 18,000 student meals are produced in our kitchens each day. In the 2013-14 school year this team produced over 3.25 million meals and snacks for students using over 850,000 pounds of local fresh produce.

Members of our management team are certified in Food Safety and all department team members receive certified food safety training year-round to ensure safe food is served to our students. If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to contact us at 303-682-725!

Construction on Airport/Allow Extra Time

During this construction phase on Airport Road, people walking and bicycling should cross Airport Road at the intersections of Clover Basin Drive or Nelson Road, where there are traffic signals with pedestrian buttons to stop traffic on Airport as you cross. Please put away electronic devices while crossing!

There is also an Airport Road underpass located between Buckthorn Drive and Staghorn Drive; it provides a multi-use pathway to Grandview Meadows Drive.

Finally, everyone driving to school should allow a few extra minutes and be patient while driving through this construction zone.

This XCEL gas line replacement project will likely continue at current locations into October, and will move south toward the Diagonal after that.

Thank you for your help in this matter,

Construction on Airport/Allow Extra Time

During this Airport Road construction phase, people walking and bicycling should only cross Airport Road at the signalized intersections of Clover Basin Drive or Nelson Road. Be sure to press the pedestrian button, wait for the “walk” light, and, even then, check for oncoming or turning traffic before entering the street. Please put any electronic devices away while crossing!

There is also an Airport Road underpass located between Buckthorn Drive and Staghorn Drive; it provides a multi-use pathway to Grandview Meadows Drive.

Finally, everyone driving to school should allow a few extra minutes and be patient while driving through this construction zone.

This XCEL gas line replacement project will likely continue at current locations into October, and will continue south to the Diagonal after that.

Thank you for your help in this matter,

If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to contact us at 303-682-7251

Download and Print Out a pre-formatted #10 Envelope for making Deposits

If you choose to bring money to school personally or send it with your student, please put it in an envelope clearly marked with the student’s first and last name, their ID #, their teacher’s name, and the amount enclosed.

ATTENDANCE INFORMATION

TO EXCUSE AN ABSENCE – please contact Lois Davis at 720-494-3738  or email  davis_lois@svvsd.org.  Be sure to include the student’s first and last name as well as the date and reason for the absence. The absence must be called in or emailed within  48 hours of the absence in order to be excused.  Absences called in after 48 hours cannot be excused unless approved by the students assistant principal.  Please note that students that arrive 15 minutes after class starts will be marked absent and not tardy.

TAKING YOUR STUDENT OUT OF SCHOOL DURING THE SCHOOL DAY–  If you would like to pull your student out of school during the school day, please send him/her to school with a signed note indicating the time you would like him/her to be excused.  Have them bring the note to the attendance window before school starts.  The student will receive a pink pass to give to the teacher for the class they will be leaving early from.  Students leaving early should always sign out at the attendance window.  You can meet your child at the attendance window or you can tell him/her to sign out and meet you outside.  The attendance clerk will use the note to excuse the student in Infinite Campus.  If the absence is a last minute appointment, call the office as soon as possible so your student can pick up a pass during passing period.  We know that emergencies arise and we would like to make the pickup as easy as possible.  Having a plan ahead of time limits classroom disruption.

Extended absences (vacation) – There is an “Extended Leave of Absence” form students can pick up prior to leaving for an extended time.  This form allows for teachers to document any assignments a student will be missing and their current grade in class.  Parents and students are required to sign.  After completion of the form, students must get signatures from administration and return to the attendance clerk.

Health office visits- Students that are not feeling well need to let their teacher know so they can be excused to visit the health office.  Students leaving school from the health office can sign themselves out and meet parents outside.  Parent/Guardians have 48 hours to excuse absences.  We strongly encourage students to contact their parents from the health office and not the teacher’s classroom.

What is SCOPA

SCOPA is a non-profit organization.  We are a booster club organization that includes the families and friends of students involved in band, choir, drama, drumline forensics and orchestra classes and activities at Silver Creek High School in the Performing Arts, “A Wing”.  Achieving excellence in performing arts programs requires an investment of time and funds.  SCOPA and its members provide this investment through fundraising and encouraging volunteer support as needed.  SCOPA members meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm in the Choir room.  Our meetings include information sharing about SCOPA and A Wing activities.  It is a great time to get better acquainted and hear updates from each program Director/teacher, so you know what your student is doing in the classroom and with performances.  Get involved!

SCOPA helps to fund the performing arts programs throughout the year FOR ALL STUDENTS IN THE A WING.  Through our bingo fundraising program we are able to support many opportunities for our A Wing students.  Volunteers are needed to help us continue to be successful at reducing student fees and supporting A Wing activities.  We run two bingo sessions per week throughout the year. SCOPA NEEDS BINGO VOLUNTEERS!!!   To volunteer, go to scopanews.org to learn how to sign up and help.

Volunteer to work Bingo for SCOPA

Come work Bingo for A Wing Fundraising!  SCOPA Sessions are every Saturday and Sunday at the Longmont Bingo Alley.  Volunteers on Saturday arrive at 10:30am and Volunteers on Sunday arrive at 4:30pm.  Session volunteer time is approximately 4 hours.

SCOPA needs volunteers to keep this fundraising program going! Without this efficient fundraising program, student fees go up and scholarships and grant funding goes down.

  1. Please know that schedule changes are not possible for the following reasons: different teacher, different lunch, change of mind, a friend, incomplete summer assignment, etc.

  1. As a reminder, the master schedule is created from student requests; therefore, changes are not a guarantee and are subject to seat availability. (Be sure to check IC again prior to the start of school as some electives may change due to seat availability and/or core classes may be scheduled on a different block to due leveling of classes.)

  1. Please do not directly contact your counselor to request a schedule change. Counselors officially do not return to school until August 17 at which time they will be working hard to review each and every submitted schedule request as well as registering students new to the district/state. Submit all requests on the request form.

  1. How you know if your schedule request has been granted? Be sure to check IC before the start of school. If for some reason, we cannot accommodate your request, you will be contacted via email or phone call.

  1. Schedule requests accepted: August 4-17, 2015. Click here for the 15-16           Schedule Change Request Form

If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to contact us at 303-682-7251!

If you choose to bring money to school personally or send it with your student, please put it in an envelope clearly marked with the student’s first and last name, their ID #, their teacher’s name, and the amount enclosed.

ATTENDANCE INFORMATION

TO EXCUSE AN ABSENCE – please contact Lois Davis at 720-494-9662  or email  davis_lois@svvsd.org.  Be sure to include the student’s first and last name as well as the date and reason for the absence. The absence must be called in or emailed within  48 hours of the absence in order to be excused.  Absences called in after 48 hours cannot be excused unless approved by the students assistant principal.
