Criteria…goes far beyond normal job expectations, exhibits excellence in the classroom and out of the classroom, contributes leadership, and exhibits dedication to SCHS.

  • Each student will receive a movie and dinner compliments of Village at the Peaks, have their name and picture displayed at Village at the Peaks, and have their picture and information on the school’s website.

Teacher Attendance Drawing for November:

  • Special thanks to the following contributors: Chik-fil-A (a lunch), Parry’s Pizza, Math Department, and King Soopers

  • The number one indicator of success in a classroom is an effective teacher every day, so a huge shout out to our teachers! 80% of our teachers had qualifying attendance…missing no more than 1 day or any part of 1 day.

Student Attendance Drawing for November:

Link to the Silver Creek Positive Attendance Program: LINK

  • Special thanks to the following contributors: Chik-fil-A (a week of Chik-fil-A), Parry’s Pizza (a free pizza), and Regal Movie Theatre (a movie pass)

  • Students will have their picture taken and displayed on our Silver Creek Website.

  • The second indicator – extremely close to an effective teacher every day (some argue it is the number one indicator)  is student attendance…”Every class. Every day.”

    • Qualifying attendance: missing a class, not more than one time – excused and/or unexcused.

  • Attendance is vital to student learning – Although assignments can be made up, the actual face-to-face dialogue, teacher direct instruction and feedback, and peer interaction cannot be duplicated.

Dancing with the Silver Creek Stars is one of the most entertaining Silver Creek fundraisers. Modeled on the prime time TV show, “Dancing with the Stars,” professional dancers are matched with our very own Silver Creek coaches or staff. The pairs (or groups) rehearse for about a month, then compete for the mirrored ball trophy! At this adults-only event, you can browse the amazing silent auction baskets donated by our programs while snacking on delicious appetizers and sipping on drinks from the cash bar. This is followed by a catered buffet-style dinner and, of course, an awesome show! Be sure to join us for this fun-filled evening of laughter, applause, scintillating conversation, and a healthy dose of competition, all for a good cause—our programs! Our 4th “season” of Dancing with the Silver Creek Stars will take place on November 11, 2017 from 4:30 to 9:30 PM. You won’t want to miss it! For more information, visit www.raptorsactivitiesboosterclub.com. To buy tickets ($45 each), please visit www.mkt.com/RABC-Events. You can also purchase tickets at the front office or directly from Kaydene Hubert (rabcpresident@gmail.com).

Sponsors Needed—To make this spectacular event a great fundraiser for both the teams and for RABC, we need sponsors! If you are a business owner, please consider sponsoring this event. If you can’t sponsor DWTSCS yourself, please share this information with businesses in our community. Details about how to sponsor and sponsorship levels can be found at Sponsor Now.

Volunteers Needed—We also need volunteers to make this evening a success. Sign up here to volunteer.  Any questions, please contact Kaydene at rabcpresident@gmail.com.

And LAST but not least, plan to come to the event. Tickets are available now for $45 at www.mkt.com/RABC-Events, at the front office, or through Kaydene Hubert (rabcpresident@gmail.com)!  We have an incredible line-up of dancers including the coaches of Boys/Girls Soccer, Dance, Softball, Track/XC, Volleyball, Boys/Girls Tennis. These coaches have made this special commitment to their programs and are willing to step out of their comfort zones for your kids. Please come out and cheer them on

The Last ThingReally!! If you have read this far, please email Joyce Kelly at rabcsecretary@gmail.com and include the word “Tango” in the subject line. We will draw one name from all respondents and the winner will receive an RABC t-shirt. If you don’t want the shirt, please email anyway and put “No Way” in the subject line. Thanks a bunch!

IMPORTANT BUS INFORMATION

Attached you will find a MS Word Document that reiterates to parents that student bus passes are required to be stored and kept in a safe place over the summer to avoid their loss, and the subsequent cost of a replacement pass.  In addition, the letter also talks about the implementation of Zpass+, a notification system which sends time and location messages via phone text to parents when their student scans on and off the bus.  This is a great program that provides another level of safety and security for the students of SVVSD.  Parents are truly going to love this new functionality.  The system is currently active and ready for parents to sign up for an account and begin receiving these valuable text notifications.

Z Pass+ information – In an effort to better serve you, we are implementing a program called Z Pass+ this year.  This free program will allow parents to receive text and/or email notifications via their smart phone whenever their student scans on or off the bus.  This technology is invaluable, and provides an additional layer of safety and security for District students utilizing transportation services.  The following link has directions on how to sign up.

Please open the following link for more important bus information.
