2018-2019 Registration Information for ALL students

     For: classes of 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022

  • Be aware of Special Programs and Application classes – link to site.

    • ** Notice: CDC & IC (Innovation Center) registration window is December 14 – January 28.

    • Most all other Special Programs, Advanced Placement, and Application class registration window is: January 16-30.

  • Teachers will recommend your core classes (English, Science, Social Studies, and Math) in January, so be sure that you are having those conversations with your teachers now.

  • Read the Registration Website. It can be accessed by going to the Silver Creek Website, clicking on Academics, and then on Registration 2018-2019.

Additional 2018-2019 Registration Information for: class of 2022

  • January 30 is Math Night, 6:00 – 7:30 pm. It will be held in the auditorium. Come find out about our two math programs: Topic Specific and IMP – Interactive Math Program. All math teachers will be present.

  • February 2 is Creek Week Presentation, 9:00 am – 10:00 am.  All incoming Silver Creek 9th graders are welcome to attend. Please check in with the front office.

  • Don’t forget…if you are interested in CDC or IC classes – register now. See information above.

  • Open Enrollment ends, January 16, so be sure to get your application submitted.

  • Applications for Leadership Academy, auditions for fine arts, and other application classes – link opens January 16-30. Be sure to apply.

  • Be sure to read the FAQ. It is an amazing resource with lots of information.

 

 

Our First Ever Semester Attendance Drawing:

  • Semester 1 – will be drawn January 8. Students must be present, based on his/her schedule, to be eligible.

  • For each month that a student qualified for monthly attendance, his / her name will be entered into the semester drawing.

  • Lots of prizes …. A celebration of good attendance!

  • An attendance fact….The academic impact of missing school is the same whether the absences are excused or unexcused.

  • Thank you to our students who attend regularly! “Every Class. Every Day.” – It’s important!

  • Partnering with Village of the Peaks, All Raptors of the month will have their picture digitally displayed at Village of the Peaks as well as the Silver Creek website. They will also receive a gift card.

With the start of the New Year, it is a time to REFLECT on some of the

team and individual accomplishments of our Fall Sports programs here

at Silver Creek (www.raptoractivitiesboosterclub.com/teams).

It is also a time to LOOK AHEAD to the Winter Sports campaign. This year, we will be promoting student attendance at some events with giveaways. Stay tuned for more the dates and more details.

It is a time to TAKE ACTION.

 

  • Join RABC today. Your membership entitles you to a free t-shirt and you can designate a portion of your donation to your favorite team and/or SCLA. (raptoractivitiesboosterclub.com)!

  • Volunteer to be a Concessions Managers. Concessions is one of the RABC’s largest revenue generators RABC. Help us generate revenue to support all of the athletes and leaders here at Silver Creek. Many hands make light work and you will earn $25 for your team as a manager, If you can help, please contact SCCONCESSIONS01@GMAIL.COM.

  • Get involved! Attend our next meeting on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 6:30 PM in the SCHS library. Come and help us spend some money! We will be voting on our winter General Funds Requests.

Athletics

Be sure to support our Raptor Athletes!  Find Sports Calendars and important information for each sport on their pages on the  Athletics Website

In order to tryout or practice for Silver Creek Athletics, the following items must be completed:

  1. Complete the Online Registration Form.

  2. Submit the SVVSD Student Medical History and Screening form  (or a similar Doctor’s office form) with an authorized physician’s signature clearing the student for athletic participation.  Physicals are valid for one full year (365 days from date of last physical). Please make sure your form has the following: Dr.s signature and date of physical.

  3. In order to submit your completed physical form please bring to the Athletic Secretary or  scan and email a copy to Yvonne Elder (elder_yvonne@svvsd.org) or fax to (720-494-3730).

  4. Pay the SVVSD Athletic Participation Fee $150 – Pay by credit card at the time of online registration or bring a check/cash into the main office. Please make checks payable to Silver Creek HS.

Communication between schools, teachers, families, students and the district is an essential part of fostering high levels of student growth and achievement. Supporting better attendance through communication is one important way that schools and families can foster increased student engagement and academic success.

Students who become ill during class must ask their teacher to be excused the Health Office

 

 

Mathematics Department:

All teachers in the Mathematics Department offer help outside of class time.  Please consult your student’s teacher via syllabus, website, or email to find out what time(s) s/he is available.

Math Club meets Thursdays from 2:40 pm – 3:40 pm in Room E206.  We are currently in our Math Madness competition season.

Pre-Payment Options

Please take advantage of the options to prepay your student’s meal accounts. Prepaid meal accounts help the lunch lines go faster and give students more time to eat, relax, and play. It also gives you peace of mind — not having to worry about looking for lunch money every day or having to worry that it might get lost or used for things other than lunch.

Meal Charging Guidelines – It is very important to keep you child’s account current. If you have any questions about the account, please call your child’s school kitchen manager.

IMPORTANT BUS INFORMATION

Attached you will find a MS Word Document that reiterates to parents that student bus passes are required to be stored and kept in a safe place over the summer to avoid their loss, and the subsequent cost of a replacement pass.  In addition, the letter also talks about the implementation of Zpass+, a notification system which sends time and location messages via phone text to parents when their student scans on and off the bus.  This is a great program that provides another level of safety and security for the students of SVVSD.  Parents are truly going to love this new functionality.  The system is currently active and ready for parents to sign up for an account and begin receiving these valuable text notifications.

Z Pass+ information – In an effort to better serve you, we are implementing a program called Z Pass+ this year.  This free program will allow parents to receive text and/or email notifications via their smartphone whenever their student scans on or off the bus.  This technology is invaluable, and provides an additional layer of safety and security for District students utilizing transportation services.  The following link has directions on how to sign up.

    Important Bus Pass Information for Parents of Students Riding the Bus     

Students only receive one free bus pass.  For a replacement pass, please contact the Bus Pass coordinator by sending an email to bus pass@svvsd.org or calling 303-702-7540.  The replacement cost for lost, stolen and/or mutilated bus passes is $5.00 and shows up as fee under your student’s name in Infinite Campus.  New students to the district or new to riding the bus may pick up their bus passes at the Main Office of the school they will be attending.

 

 

 

 

Low Cost Health Insurance

Students who are 18 and graduating may be eligible for FREE and LOW-COST HEALTH INSURANCE until their 19th birthdays! This health insurance is available through Medicaid and CHP+ and enrollment occurs right here through St Vrain Valley School District.  Once children turn 18 and are no longer in school, Medicaid no longer counts parent income towards the child’s eligibility!  Please call The Healthy Kids Initiative at 720-722-1454 to see if your kids qualify today!
