Have you heard?

Here are the things happening in the wonderful world of counseling:

1. eCredit Recovery: sign-ups started on December 10 and run through January 22. If you have failed an English, math or social studies class you can recover it online through the district-run program. Register at www.ecreditrecovery.com

2. Local Scholarships are here! Only SVVSD seniors can apply, which means your chances of winning are that much higher. All of the scholarships are listed on this blog… here I’ll even put the link to the exact page: https://blogs.svvsd.org/mauraebm/svvsd-local-scholarships/  Scholarships are due at 3:00 on Thursday, Feb. 27 – no exceptions.

3. Financial Aid Night is 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 15 at Longmont High School – go, learn, get financed.

Check out the Calendar of Events page for even more happenings in and around SHS.

Have a safe, healthy and happy Winter Break Falcons. I wish you a lovely start to your 2014!

From Mr. O’Hair:

The 1st Annual Innovation Center Student Hackathon is quickly approaching! This event is being held at Altona MS this Friday and Saturday, December 6th and 7th.  This is an opportunity for any Colorado middle or high school student (grades 6th – 12th) to compete for over $5,000 in prize money.  The flyer for the event is attached and the links for the event are listed below.  I ask that you please advertise and forward this information on to any student who you think might be interested in attending.  Our goal is to get at least 75 students to the event and we are quickly approaching it!  Please feel free to email me with any questions you might have about this.
