There are a number of academic program that will be participating to share information that has a focus of college to career.  Faculty members have been working on creative ways to share their information, as well as inviting current and former students to talk about their experiences during the Academic Program Fair.

All Student Services will be available to speak with students and answer their questions.  This will be an excellent opportunity for future FRCC students to engage with staff and students to help them feel more confident about their decision to attend FRCC.

Free College Event by Princeton Review

An upcoming event hosted by The Princeton Review – Colorado. On Thursday, November 5th, we’ll be at Mountain Vista HS presenting to parents and students on the current landscape of college admissions. This will be a FANTASTIC opportunity for parents and students to learn more about the college application process, and to hear how to best stay ahead of the curve as they position themselves as the most desirable college applicant. The best part- it’s FREE!! As well, the first 100 families to check-in at the event will receive a free copy of our most recent title, “Best 380 Colleges” (2016 Edition). Topics covered include: the “ins-and-outs” of college admissions, finding the best fit schools, is college “worth it”, and standardized testing (ACT, SAT and the re-designed SAT coming March 2016).

Lastly, The Princeton Review – Colorado is very proud to announce that our Senior VP of Publishing, Rob Franek, will be our guest speaker for the evening. Rob joins us from our NYC office, and has quite the background… from teaching and tutoring for The Princeton Review, to serving as a college admissions administrator, to author and lecturer. You may recognize Rob’s name as he is the lead author of one of our most popular annual titles, “Best 380 Colleges” (and quite a few other college admissions-related publications), and frequently appears on behalf of The Princeton Review on TV shows such as: Good Morning America, the TODAY Show, Fox News, etc. For more information on Rob, and to see him in action, please visit the following links…

Are you ready for the ACT?

Hey Juniors! The ACT is just around the corner. This is no time to freak out, rather just a time to get your ducks in a row. Here are the details:

Wednesday, April 1 – 8:15 – 10:00, ACT Pre-registration

Tuesday, April 28 – 7:30 – 11:00 ACT exam

Things to remember for test day: bring #2 pencils – not mechanical, a Photo ID, and a calculator. You’ll be required to go to classes after the exam, but classes will be short, and you’ll have time for lunch after the exam.

Lady Falcons, here is a great college info session for you

Calling all of the SHS Lady Falcons! We have an opportunity for you and your mom (aunt, grandma, favorite cousin) to learn about college with expert advice. You and your leading lady can attend the From Nest to Wings college conference. It is designed for sophomores through seniors to get help with scholarships, college searches and more.

The event is Saturday, March 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the IBMC Building, 2315 Main Street. You can register online to get your spot.
