Student council plans “Midnight Lights” winter dance

Skyline’s Student Council is planning this year’s winter dance that will take place on the 30th of January. The theme this year is “Midnight Lights.”

“We actually had three different [theme ideas]: Midnight Lights, Party in the Nest, and Winter Wonderland,” Student Council member Toree Baldwin explains. “Then we went around to a lot of class rooms and had the student body vote on what they liked best. This connects the students to the dance to hopefully get a larger turnout!”

This year’s dance will be different from last year, with the dress code being informal. “It’s going to be a neon dance, and we’re making it extremely informal. People [can wear] jeans and t-shirts… it’s more about having fun and making memories rather than what you look like,” Baldwin explains.

Leading up to the dance is a spirit week. The spirit days are:

Monday: PJ Day
Tuesday: Tie Dye
Wednesday: Flannel
Thursday: Twin Day
Friday: Neon Day

Tickets are $10 the week of January 19th-22nd, $15 the week of January 25th-29th, and $20 at the door. The dance will be held in the commons at Skyline. All grades are welcome to attend. Come to the winter dance and have some fun!
